Viewsonic ViewPhone4S Screen Matches iPhone 4S

As for so many mobile phone manufacturers, Viewsonic has unveiled a number of smartphones before Mobile World Congress starts on Monday; but rather than just incrementally improve existing handsets, the company upped the ante with the ViewPhone 4s.

Like the iPhone 4S, the device comes with a 3.5-inch 960x640 pixels Super Clear IPS LCD display, which gives it exactly the same pixel density (326ppi) as the Apple Retina Display which is manufactured by LG.

It also has a five megapixel rear camera like the iPhone 4 (without flash) and a VGA front facing camera plus a 1GHz processor which is likely to be a dual core model rather than a bog standard single core one.

Oddly enough, Viewsonic chose to wrap the phone in a chassis that has both ends daubed in fluorescent yellow and there doesn't appear to be any microSD card slot.

Other than the fact that it comes with two SIM card slots and runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich with Viewsonic's own user interface, ViewScene 3D, the company hasn't said when it will be available in the UK and at what price.

The company's current top of the range handset is the Viewsonic V350 which is also a dual SIM phone with a five megapixel camera and Android 2.2 Froyo and retails for around ?170.
